Review ~ How to Date a Douchebag by Sara Ney

No doubt about it, Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is the university’s most celebrated student athlete—and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn’t give a sh*t about what you or anyone else thinks.

Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university’s most diligent student—but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags—and Oz Osborne is all three.

She’s smart, sarcastic—and not what he expected.

He wants to be friends.

He wants to spend time with her.

He wants to drive her crazy.

He wants…

Words cannot express how much I LOVED this book …. the title of the book had me intrigued as soon as I saw it …. Brilliant ploy by Sara Ney to get the attention of interested readers in an instant as the title of the book is what drew me to it. Then once I read the synopsis, I was hooked. Let me tell you something …. Ney did not disappoint. She will have you laughing out loud so fast with her wittiness and comedic talent and the ability to create charaters at first whom you dislike, but grow on you with their charm …. that my friends is talent.

Oz Osborne is the perfect example of a Douchebag …. arrogant, entitled, lazy, plays women, etc … you get my drift. That is exactly why Jameson Clarke cannot stand the “jocks” …. and when Oz comes wandering over to her table begging for a kiss, the sparks between the two are instantaneous.  It is almost like James (as Oz likes to call her) and Oz were meant to be …. they are polar opposites, however, they cannot stay away from each other. What starts off as a love-hate relationship between the two of them, blossoms into a beautiful friendship and eventually into a tale of love.

I loved how each chapter started with a quote, which made me laugh every time. I want to know where Sara Ney found them, as some of them made me laugh out loud and gain attention from my husband who was looking at me funny. Love the hashtags. If you are wondering what I am talking about, then pick up the book and buy it! Do it … it will be one of the best things you purchase all year if you are looking for a romantic comedy. Sara Ney has this one in the bag, as it is one of the best romance comedies I have read in a while, with great characters, storyline and writing.

I found myself staying up all night as I could not put the book down. I loved how the book alternated character points of view, which is something that I love in stories. There is nothing better than finding out what is going inside a characters head and how they feel. Ney does a great job in character development and ensuring that she never strays from them … I loved how Oz transformed throughout the book, but still stayed true to who he is.

If you are looking for a good, fun, read then ladies this is it. Sara Ney does a fantastic job in creating a comedic romance novel that will leave you wanting more … Don’t forget to add it to your To-Be-Read Shelf or one-click it. It is a great read and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who has ever dated a douchebag, knows a douchebag or just hates douchebags! They can be transformed! Can’t wait to read the next one in this series!
