Review ~ Mister Hockey by Lia Riley

Jed West is Mr. Hockey. The captain of the NHL’s latest winning team, the Denver Hellions—and the hottest player on the ice—at least according to every magazine. .and Breezy Angel. Breezy has been drooling over Jed at games for years, and he plays a starring role in her most toe-curling fantasies. But dirty dreams don’t come true, right?

Then Jed saunters through the doors of her library, a last minute special guest for a summer reading event, and not only is he drop dead gorgeous up close, his personality is straight up swoon-worthy. He even comes to the rescue when she has an R-rated “Super Book Worm” costume malfunction. But when he mistakenly assumes she’s more into books than pucks, she’s too flustered to correct his mistake. And then comes a big kiss, followed by a teensy-tiny problem. Jed’s dating policy is simple: Never date a fan.

So what’s a fangirl going to have to do to convince her ultimate crush that he’s become less of a perfect fantasy, and more like the perfect man. . .for her?

I am a fan of sports romance novels and whenever I have a chance to read them, I jump at the opportunity. As a Canadian girl, I definitely love hockey romance novels, as they are something close to my heart. Jed West is the captain of the Denver Hellions, he is every womens dream, especially Breezy Angel, as she is his number one fan. When Breezy sister Neve happens to get Jed to come sign autographs and read in her library, Breezy has a series of unfortunate mishaps that brings Jed into her life and heart.

This is my first book that I have read by Lia Riley and I loved it. Her writing has a sense of humour, wittiness and she definitely knows how to write a steamy, sexy romance novel. I could not put the book down, wanting to find out what happens to Breezy and Jed. The characters are easy to like and root for, especially since Breezy is not your typical blonde, skinny, beautiful heroine. In fact, she is more of the girl next door, someone who has been underestimated her entire life, which maybe makes her character that much more likable. It was great to see the romance flourish between Jed and Breezy, watching the two find each other.

I definitely am going to have to pick up the other books in the Hellions series, as this was a real treat. If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh and give you some sweet loving, then Mister Hockey is the book for you. If you are looking for something sexy, hot and with a hot male lead – this is the book for you. This is a definite must add to your To-Be-Read Shelf and maybe a great read for your summer holidays!
